I have also shared this update on the WGA and SAG-AFTRA Strikes 2023 page of the Parlor. Congratulations again to SAG-AFTRA and to the WGA for standing your ground and refusing to be intimidated into accepting anything less than what you deserve for the value of your work!
On the page dedicated to the strikes, I have begun discussion of the use of AI graphics. This, I believe, is an important discussion to continue moving forward.
Another thing I am beginning to look at is how the Parlor might best utilize social media. It is a rather confusing world where straight answers and resolutions are not necessarily always forthcoming in a way that does not befuddle the Parlor. Social media can be quite a battleground when it comes to major issues and current events.
It is also very vulnerable to spam while at the same time, posts that are not spam may be mistaken for it. The Parlor does have social media accounts, and needs to update the social media page of the Parlor to reflect Twitter's new name, X.
Speaking of X (formerly, Twitter), I have removed posts that contained links to the Parlor's YouTube content as some of it is no longer available due to updates and moves. YouTube is the platform the Parlor's videos are hosted on, and some of them can be viewed directly on YouTube and found in YouTube or Google searches. That is, I set them to "Public" to allow them to be seen directly on YouTube and to be found in searches on YouTube and Google (as well as other search engines).
The Parlor does have Facebook and Instagram, yes. The Mayfair Parlor on Facebook has a group set up, and the intention is for it to be a place where Mayfair Witches/Anne Rice fans who also enjoy the Parlor's content can discuss a number of things and hopefully, provide feedback. I removed one video from the Facebook page last night as it is already available via YouTube.
And of course, as not everyone is comfortable with social media or might not have access to it for some reason and would like to reach me, email is always available. The Parlor's email address is comeintomyparlor1995@gmail.com.
The Parlor uses this blog as its Parlor Chat and Site Updates and the most recent 10 posts appear in an RSS feed on the Parlor's Home page on the main website. This page is one that I have been considering making more of a landing page, because the site is quite large for its kind. I don't always point out everything added, but major additions and changes, I do. A landing page with a direct link to those changes would be a lot more efficient, I think.
As the Parlor transitions the use of the Strikes page, this might mean a little reorganization...again...so, please, do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns regarding content or other matters. If you see anything that is clearly not what it's supposed to be, such as a hijacked link; if you see spam, broken links, and/or malfunctions of any kind, please DO let me know as soon as possible. The Parlor's email is the best way to do this.
